چکیده

Abstract The tannery industry inevitably generates toxic and catastrophic wastewater, which results in a huge threat to public health water resources. Therefore, this work aimed synthesize parthenium hysterophorus-based biochar–Fe 3 O 4 composite for removal of Cr(VI) from wastewater under full factorial experimental designs the Box–Behnken, was analyzed using response surface methodology four independent factors pH (3, 6, 9), initial concentrations (40, 70, 100 mg/L), contact times (30, 60, 90 min), adsorbent doses (20, mg/100 mL). This described by high BET area 237.4 m 2 /g, XRD prominent peaks, SEM morphology corroborate FTIR multifunctionalities O–H at 3296 cm ?1 , vibration ketone C–OH 1240 C–O–C 1147 Fe–O stretching 542 . maximum Cr(IV) efficiency 91.8% recorded an concentration 40 mg/L, 3, dose mL, time min, whereas minimum 17.3% observed 20 mL dose, 9, 30 min. real determined be 85.13 mg/L its remediation found 81.8%. Langmuir’s model best fit with data R 0.99 q max 400 mg/g, showing that adsorption process homogenous monolayer. In conclusion, were encouraging, appears potential candidate Cr wastewater.

Evaluation of a Magnetite-based Adsorption Process for the Recovery of Metals from Industrial Wastewaters

The objectives of the research were to evaluate a magnetite-based adsorption process as an alternative treatment technique for removing metals from industrial wastewaters. A composite adsorbent was prepared b precipitating sorption, magnetic separation, and desorption process to recover Cr or Zn from solution The process was effective, but performance decreased when the adsorbent was recycled. ...

Harmful and beneficial aspects of Parthenium hysterophorus: an update

Parthenium hysterophorus is a noxious weed in America, Asia, Africa and Australia. This weed is considered to be a cause of allergic respiratory problems, contact dermatitis, mutagenicity in human and livestock. Crop production is drastically reduced owing to its allelopathy. Also aggressive dominance of this weed threatens biodiversity. Eradication of P. hysterophorus by burning, chemical herb...
